November is National Novel Writing Month
National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) is an international celebration of writing. Authors around the world take the challenge to write 50,000 words in 30 days, that averages to 1,667 words a day. Striving for this goal pushes writers towards producing their novel’s first draft.
How can you participate in a FREE NaNoWriMo Write In hosted by the Keweenaw Learning Center?
- Sign up for a seat by emailing keweenawlearningcenter@gmail.com subject line NaNoWriMo. Specify the time that you will come (Morning, Afternoon, All day).
- Bring what you need to write such as a computer or notebook.
- Sign in with the host and choose a seat.
- Sign on to the internet if you need it, or stay offline if that is what you prefer.
- Enjoy a cup of coffee, cup of tea, or one of the snacks provided by the host.
- Write. Write. Write. Instrumental music will be playing in the background.
- Participate in words sprints or other writing activities to if you feel so inclined.
November 5, 2022 from 9 am to 4 pm Start the month off right by spending the first Saturday writing all day! If that is too much for you, join us for a few hours of writing in the morning (9 am to 12 noon) or in the afternoon (1pm to 4 pm).
November 12, 2022 from 9 am to 12 noon Join us to write more of your novel. The middle of the month can be hard, so come get encouragement from local authors.
November 19, 2022 from 9 am to 12 noon Keep up with your weekly writing goals with a few extra hours of dedicated writing time in a supportive community.
November 26, 2022 from 9 am to 12 noon Finish the month off with a bang! Make your final push to finish your 50,000 words, or get closer to your personal goal of writing a book in a month. If you cannot escape the holiday madness all day, slip away for a few hours of writing in the morning (9 am to 12 noon) or in the afternoon (1pm to 4 pm).
